Hey there, a warm welcome to my itch.io page!
I love creative writing and used to write stories, most of them being amalgamations of what I used to read, play, watch and experience. I recently picked up creative writing after 8 years, and I wanted to give life to my stories in the form of an adult game series, and this resulted in my first big project; Taste Of Life, a FREE story-driven adult game series.
Taste Of Life - Synopsis
You return from 5 years of university abroad, back to your old hometown. While it feels nice to finally have your degree and reconnect with your loved ones, you always coasted by life doing what others told you, following goals others set for you. After your experience abroad, you feel like something is missing from your life. On your journey to find your own goals, explore the world, meet different people, discover different cultures, unravel the mysteries of the world and end up in many spicy situations along the way!
Release Plans
Taste Of Life is a project that will be episodic in nature, similar to cartoons that have their own little stories in each episodes. There is an overarching plot, one that will be spread throughout the different episodes/chapters, and the main plot will have a greater importance in the later chapters, but the goal for now is to explore different stories and characters, both wacky ones and more grounded ones in each chapters.
And do not worry, I don't plan on introducing waifus to just leave them behind when moving on to the next chapters, a lot of characters will make re-appearances throughout different chapters, especially fan-favourite ones.

at the moment to download I have to use a mega app which means i have to downloade it on the app then extract it and put it into my files which is hard to do for some phones

Yeah dude, sorry for being away for so long. But now I'm back baby, hope you've been enjoying the updated and completed Chapter 1 <3
Yeah I've been thinking about it, and I would rather do it a bit later down the line, maybe after being done with Chapter 2? Because right now juggling between my day-job, this game, and promoting this game around, it'd be a little rough to add managing a discord server into the pile. But give it some time, as the game and community grows I do think a discord server would be beneficial.
I found it and i'm falling in love with it.
The story is really just run-of-the-mill stuff, but it's entertainingly written and since the characters come across as real, it's incredibly fun to play and follow the story. Even the H-scenes were incredibly well done. Multiple stages, multiple stances, multiple angles. Even the text box was left out for individual scenes, which not everyone does, so I have to give it a positive mention. It makes the game experience much more intense. And I have to say that I may have fallen a little bit in love with Lily. xD (just kidding, of course, but she's incredibly cute).
However, I have one thing that I did not like so much. I would have liked to have had the option to do nothing with the neighbor. So decide for yourself whether you want to have something with a character or not.
I hope the game is not abandoned. I would very much like to know how the story continues.

Hey first of all, my apologies for such a long absence, I just made a post addressing why I was gone for so long, alongside the final update for Chapter 1. Now, despite your gripes with the neighbour, I'm incredibly happy and humbled at your praise for ToL, it made my day <3
Now, this will be explored in future Chapters but the connection with Grace is kind of needed, but while working on Chapter 2, I could release an update that allows you to skip h-scenes that you don't want to see, so that you get to create your own headcanon. What do you think of this?

Honestly I have no specific ETA right now, I've been re-doing every renders and animations plus the new content, the most likely estimate I can give is around October, sorry for taking while with that :c

The game is only available on the website, but not on the app version of itch.io.
Ahhh I see, it's this way cuz I uploaded it on mega, and third party hosts aren't supported on the app. The file size limit on itch is 1gb, and my game is around 1.5gb right now. I'll try to contact support to see if it's possible to upload a file size larger than 1gb, if it's not then you'll have to download it through your browser, sorry about that :c

I was going to release update 0.8 by the end of last month, but seeing as there is not that much left til the end of Chapter 1, I decided to fully finish Chapter 1 and release it completed by the end of this month, so look forward to that c:

Chapter 1 is already written in stone, but in future chapters, especially involving long term potential romantic interest, I might give you choices to engage with someone or not, depending on how it fits with the story I have planned. But don't worry, in the end of the future final chapters, I will give you the choice to have a harem or stay exclusive to Lily.

Quick question, I'm gonna get a laptop in a few weeks, possibly in 2 months, I'm interested in making visual novel games ( including adult/hentai ) but I wanna get the basics down first, can you tell me or give me the links to the videos that tells you about the software/app used for making these games ? No Wait- it is even possible to make a visual novel from just a laptop ?
Yep, it's perfectly doable to make VNs on a laptop. First of all you gotta chose which software you're gonna use to make your VN. I'd recommend Ren'Py, it's very simple and easy to use, and the majority of VNs nowadays use it. If you wanna know more about how to use Ren'Py, check out a Youtube channel called Zeil Learnings, her tutorials are easy to understand and I believe she provides resources so you can follow along her explanations rather than just watching the video. For your graphics, if you're gonna make them 2D/hand-drawn then you're good to go, but if you're gonna make 3D rendered games, I would recommend you get the most powerful laptop you can afford, because rendering 3D scenes or just creating the 3D scenes can be very resource heavy. Aye aye captain, yes I will be using renpy too, I do know it's easy to use since a lot of people have been using it and the games I have played so far had " Renpy " in common so yeah, I'm still a bit confused on the 3d and 2d part, like if you have played " Lessons in love " or watched or played something similar to that, you will understand what kind of game I'm talking about of creating, the laptop I'm getting is I think a 6gb ram,
I write web novels for now as both a hobby and my work, that's why I wanna see the characters and the story like, you know the feeling right ?

Just saw this game when scrolling through R18 VN, and it's so good. I love the romance between Lily and the mc. I keep forgetting that this game is an adult game because of the romance between the two. Btw is there a discord server?

And unfortunately no, no discord server as of yet, juggling this game, work, and daily happenings doesn't leave me much time to manage a server. Maybe when this project will become big enough to allow me to allocate more time to it, who knows.
I'm shooting for mid or end of February. My apologies for no constant update, job's been killing me. But I have no intention of giving up on this game, don't worry.

How come you can't download from mega? Which platform would be more convenient for you?
Ahhh I had the same issue on my phone a while back, to download from mega on your phone you have to download the mega app first.
